The story revolved around the adventures of five good friends of a primary school somewhere in Singapore. Their first mystery adventure started with the arrival of a new foreign exchange student by the name of Kiki from Hawaii to their school. Kiki’s arrival coincided with a grand exhibition of treasures and artifacts from the island kingdom of Rapa-nui.
Kiki - the suspect became their close friend who sought their help to find the missing Golden Bird Mask - which not only holds the key to his status as the Crown King of Rapa-nui but his life as well. The five friends formed Mystery Investigators Five and using their wit, ingenuity and humour managed to solve the mystery and saving a friend at the same time.
